Special Services Teacher – LTS 1.0 FTE – Sweeney Elementary

Description:
1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute (LTS) – Special Education Resource Teacher for Sweeney Elementary School. Tentative assignment start date March 6, 2025 through June 6, 2025. 

Job Summary:
Deliver direct and indirect special education services to students in a resource room setting, monitor progress on IEP goals and objectives; follow due process and IEP procedures and manage the paperwork; communicate effectively with families and staff; develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, direct the work of paraprofessional(s).

Provide instruction in content area in accordance with each student’s ability, create a classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Establish effective working relationships with students and parents, works collaboratively with other staff members.

Education/Training/Experience:

• Valid MN teaching licensure in Special Education; the District may consider a Tier 1 or Tier 2 licensed candidates
• Experience working with a variety of disabilities, and the ability to deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of these students
• Preference to experience supporting students with EBD, ASD and/or OHD
• Training for specific needs of the students in the program will be provided by the district
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
