Compensation: BA= $39.95/Hour, MA= $44.07/Hour
*This is not eligible for health and dental benefits unless a current contracted teacher through Wayzata Public Schools

Early Learning School: TBD
Gleason Lake Elementary School: July 7-July 31, Monday-Thursday 8:30am-11:30 am (16 days of instruction)
Central Middle School: July 7-July 31,  Monday-Thursday 9:30am-12:30pm (16 days of instruction)
Wayzata High School: July 7-July 31, Monday-Thursday 12:30pm-3:30pm (16 days of instruction)
Wayzata Transition School: July 7-July 31
, Monday-Thursday 8:30am-11:30 am (16 days of instruction)

Position Description:

Wayzata Public Schools is currently seeking Special Education teachers with the ability, skills, and training necessary to work with a broad array of students with disabilities in a cross-categorical model, such that they can receive an appropriate education program in their neighborhood school.

Qualifications:

  • Special Education Licensure required for working with students in Federal Setting 1-3. 
  • Multiple licensure preferred.
  • ASD Preferred
  • Ability to design and implement specially designed instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students requiring special education services. 
  • Experience and willingness to work on general education teams and provide collaborative special education services with general education teachers is required.
  • Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and to effectively direct the work delegated to them. 
  • Interest in and ability to relate well to elementary students.
  • Experience with evaluation and eligibility determination for special education services preferred.
