North Lakes Academy is seeking a qualified Special Education teacher. NLA serves 30% students who receive special education; the majority of which are federal Setting I and II. Special education teaching license preferred.

Responsible for maintaining a classroom environment where students can thrive and being part of a collaborative team of general and special educators, administrators, and support staff.  North Lakes Academy’s special educators can focus on providing quality services to small caseloads because they are supported by a robust team of experienced colleagues, including an evaluation team and on-site special education administration.

Currently, we operate an elementary campus (grades K-6) and a secondary campus (grades 7-12) both in Forest Lake, serving a total of 550 students. North Lakes Academy (NLA) is a K-12 charter school located in Forest Lake, Minnesota, a community about 25 miles north of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The school was organized by a group of Forest Lake area parents and teachers seeking an alternative to the large junior high schools available to the children in the community. NLA was chartered in the spring of 1999 and opened for operation that fall. In 2009, we expanded to include grades 9-12, and grew again in 2019 when we opened a new facility to add grades K-4.
