Special Education Teacher
Gentry Academy, a 5-12 charter school in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, is seeking a teacher whose primary responsibility will be teaching Special Education for the 2024-2025 school year. and beyond The position is full-time.
The position requires an experienced teacher who can independently manage a classroom. A Minnesota teaching license is required, specifically Academic Behavior Strategist and/or SLD.
Gentry Academy is located on the Vadnais Sports Center campus in a state-of-the-art building that was newly opened in the spring of 2017. Gentry Academy is designed for students who seek to be high-achieving leaders in life. Students are presented with a powerful opportunity to learn in a traditional classroom setting that integrates the core curriculum with a flexible W.I.N. (What I Need) schedule that allows students to focus on their desired disciplines and passions through our four schools focused on academics, arts, athletics, and corporate integration.

The candidate selected to fill the role of a Special Education teacher will be given the great responsibility of continuing our commitment to leadership and academic excellence.
Qualifications:
Job qualifications for the position include:
*Ability to provide a high level of rigor

*Strong skills in student advocacy and relationship building
*Proficient in reading strategies
*Knowlegable in Special Education Law and Requirements
*Ability to work in a collaborative environment and build positive working relationships with students, parents, and other staff.
*Applied knowledge of current technology used to support student learning
*Ability to handle competing priorities
*Self-directed and able to manage workload and make deadlines
*Ability to make student-centered decisions
