Overview:
Surad School is seeking an experienced and compassionate English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher to support our diverse student population. Most of our students are English Language Learners, and we are committed to providing tailored language instruction that promotes academic success, confidence, and full integration into the classroom. The ideal candidate will have expertise in language acquisition and be passionate about helping students develop their English language skills through both targeted instruction and immersion in content areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Language Instruction: Provide direct ELL support through individual or small group instruction, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Differentiation: Adapt lessons and materials to meet the language proficiency levels of students, ensuring content is accessible and challenging.
- Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate language support across subjects and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Assessment: Monitor student progress, using data to inform instruction and adjust strategies to meet individual needs.
- Cultural Competence: Foster a respectful and inclusive environment that acknowledges students' diverse cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, or a related field.
- Experience teaching English Language Learners, preferably in a K-12 setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
