We offer an early learning center for pre-school and kindergarten students, including a community education center. This center includes many outdoor and indoor active learning spaces. Jefferson Elementary provides programming for grades 1-4, focusing on small group instruction, responsive classroom, STEM opportunities and core curriculum. We offer a middle school structure and environment for grades 5-8, focused on advisory, exploratory and experiential learning opportunities. Our high school is for grades 9-12, offering college, vocational and work ready courses. We have many opportunities for fine arts and athletics for all students. A Career Technical Education (CTE) Center providing students with opportunities in automotive, welding, manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, construction careers and cabinetry.

Job Summary:                        
The certified SpEd teacher works with parents, administration, general educationteachers, interventionists as well as the SpEd Team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs designed to support the growth of students with special needs. This educator will also develop lesson plans, provide classroom instruction, conduct evaluations, assessments, weekly progress monitoring and prepare all required reports. The special education teacher interprets student progress, and routinely communicates with parents, intervention team and IEP team. Takes responsibility for the learning of our students and his/her own performance.

Desired Qualifications          
* Licensure in ABS preferred
* ASD, DCD and EBD will be considered
* Understanding of elementary school philosophy
* Understanding and experience in utilizing instructional best practices to engage elementary level students in learning 
* Understanding and experience in assessment and data driven decision-making
