Job Description:  
This position is working with transition students with individual transition needs that meet criteria for special education. This includes small group instruction, collaboration with work based learning coordinators, and outside agencies.  The special education teacher will collaborate with other service providers during the day to meet student needs.  

License & Experience:

  • Licensed Special Education Teacher in the State of Minnesota
  • Knowledge and experience working with students with special education needs.
  • Experience working with transition age students and families

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience completing due process and follow timeline requirements of special education
  • Experience completing Part B evaluations
  • Must be able to assure and implement state and federal laws, statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to special education
  • Team oriented approach when working with students, colleagues, families, and administrators
  • Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
  • Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
  • Inspires and engages all students in relevant learning
  • Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
  • Experience working with diverse students and families – experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred
