Description
Aitkin School District #1 is looking for an Elementary Paraprofessional to work within our Special Education Department. Candidates must be able to work with many different levels of special needs students and collaborate with special services team members. Staff will be expected to ensure that all students with special needs and emotional disabilities receive a high-quality education aligned with their personal goals and state standards. Candidates must be able to work with and support each students’ individualized education plan (IEP), as well as completing all necessary paperwork, and data collection as requested by teaching staff. High School diploma or equivalent is required and 2 or more years of Post Secondary school, or have passed the Para-Pro test (willingness to take and pass the test)
Job Summary:

Collaborate with teaching staff to support the growth and development of students with different disabilities.

Participate in regular Paraprofessional meetings as an active and engaged professional.

Document and gather data needed for adjusting students IEP’s and growth activities.

Communicate frequently with teachers, colleagues, and administrators through all available means of technology.

Establish and maintain high standards for completing homework and academic standards for the students in the program.
