POSITION LOCATION: Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC), with placement at the ELC – Cosmos located in Cosmos, MN.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The Special Education Paraprofessional provides assistance to children, teachers &/or mental health professional/practitioner in providing an appropriate, safe learning environment to students enrolled in special educational programs. Some students may have challenging behaviors.Â

QUALIFICATIONS:Â
- High school diploma or GED required.Â
- Proof of Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification; new paraprofessional must be certified within two weeks of hire date;
- Successfully obtain CPI certification through training provided by SWWC;
- Passing score (80% or better) on SWWC Level 1 skills assessment; passing score must be obtained by the end of the introductory period to continue employment;
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Criminal background check will be conducted on successful applicant.

SALARY: Position to begin immediately. Paraprofessionals start at $19.50/hour and up, depending upon education, qualifications and experience; includes benefits. Working 6.5 hours per day with a 30-minute duty free lunch break, Monday – Friday.Â
