Special Education Paraeducators (Intervention, Level 3, Student Success Coach)

District Wide

The Mankato School District has positions available for Paraeducators. Positions are available in Early Learning, Elementary, Middle School, and High School sites. Both full-time and part-time positions are available as soon as possible for the 2023-24 school year.

Summary of Duties (Intervention):
Under the supervision and direction of a classroom teacher, the Intervention Paraeducator assists in identifying student needs and monitors progress within the intervention program, identifies and reinforces specific skills for individual students, and maintains records of student progress.

Summary of Duties (Level 3/Student Success): 
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist the special education teachers in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of special education students in an assigned educational program; assist students with meeting the goals and objectives of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP); attend to the physical and health needs of students; monitor and report student progress regarding educational, behavioral, or functional performance; Applies evidence-based interventions to support students; Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by supervising teacher and/or program administrator.

Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to qualify for this position:

  • 60-semester credits (or two years full-time at an institute of higher education)

  • or an Associate’s degree (AA, AS, AAS) or a cut score of at least 460 on the ParaPro Assessment    

Pay:
Starting at $17.00 per hour.
