Qualifications/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED and passed ParaPro exam (or 60 college credits) required. Successful background check required. Prefer experience working with children.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:
Patience, flexibility, love for children, confidentiality, team work, self starter, take direction easily, excellent communication skills, behavior management skills, positive attitude, sense of humor, ability to cooperate fully with other team members, confidential, possesses initiative/self-starter, assist in the classroom and in special education classroom. See the attached job description for additional information.

Specific Tasks:
Lunchroom:
Help promote positive interactions in the lunchroom, set up for lunches, supervise students and develop a good rapport with them, maintain a safe cafeteria, and clean up the area after all students are done eating.
Special Education Instructional Assistant:
Work with student throughout the day assisting with behavior and academics. Refocus the student in the classroom, de-escalate negative behavior, recognize and acknowledge positive behavior, work cooperatively with classroom teacher and Special Education staff. Work to increase independence in children. Other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher. See the attached job description for additional information.
Hours Per Day:
3.5 hours/day
The first 1/2 hour is monitoring breakfast. The next 3 hours will be working as a SpEd IA.
As per Contract, starting at $16.41 – $18.70 depending on qualifications
