Elementary Special Education Due Process Coordinator
 

AFSA is seeking a full-time Elementary Special Education  Coordinator. Professional development provided for licensure requirements and more. We work with an inclusion model of primarily level 1 and 2 students.  AFSA brings a unique learning experience to our students and we are seeking teachers who can build strong student, parent, and community relationships for our team. Case managers are supported by an in-house due process coordinator and clerical support. The school counselor provides the social skills groups as needed. We contract for specialty services such as speech, OT, PT and DAPE. We hire outside experts to assist with evaluations as needed, leaving more time for the teacher to provide direct services to their assigned students.

As Coordinator, you will supervise special educaiton teachers/case managers, co-supervise para professional support staff and oversee training, due process and scheduling for your team. AFSA Elementary has 34 students with IEPs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • MN Tier 3 or 4 Special Education license
  • Experience with Elementary Special Education processes
  • Oversee due process timelines and activties
  • Ensure deadlines are being met
  • Assist teachers in reviewing data and writing goals.
  • Assist special education teachers with writing IEPs
  • Review services for students with disabilities
  • Help develop teacher schedules for direct and in-direct services
  • Provide professional development for case managers
  • Evaluate and document students’ progress
  • Serve as part of the local school leadership team
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision:

  • Reports to Director or designated staff member
