Salary:
Based on CVSEC Master Agreement
Starting salary $19.76 per hour with benefits available.

We are hiring positive, patient, and reliable individuals to make a difference in the lives of our students. As an Educational Assistant, you will work with small groups of students with disabilities and support them through their individual journeys. Your role will be critical in fostering a learning environment that ensures students receive the attention and guidance they need to succeed. You will work a school-year schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. We are committed to helping you find a career, not just a job!

Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative (CVSEC) is a collaborative of Faribault, Medford, Northfield, and Owatonna public schools. CVSEC staff are committed to implementing specialized programming that meets the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students.

Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative provides highly individualized learning experiences for students from kindergarten through age 22 who need more structure, support, and modifications than can be accommodated in the traditional academic setting. We believe wholeheartedly, that all students can be successful and productive learners when taught the tools to access their potential in our specialized program.

CVSEC is seeking Special Education Educational Assistants for the 2024-2025 School Year

Position Summary:

CVSEC Educational Assistants are highly collaborative and possess strong problem-solving skills.  CVSEC Educational Assistants are committed to preparing students to successfully learn and engage in their communities.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs as necessary

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to develop individual education programs (IEPs) 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behavior

  • Communicate regularly with school teams to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continue to improve knowledge or skills

Requirements: 

  • A high school diploma or GED

  • Able to reach Highly Qualified status by completing a passing score on the MN Para Test, we provide resources and assistance

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred

  • Committed to open communication

  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs and circumstances

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
