Job Summary:
Aspen Academy, an award-winning K-8 charter school in Savage, MN, is seeking a full-time Special Education Due Process Coordinator. Aspen Academy offers small class sizes and a strong sense of community.

This position works 220 days a year, with PTO days and benefits.

The Special Education Due Process Coordinator will oversee compliance with special education laws, regulations, and due process procedures. This role involves supporting the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring timely evaluations, and maintaining accurate documentation for students receiving special education services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage due process procedures to ensure compliance with IDEA, state laws, and district policies.
  • Oversee and manage the IEP process, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, communication, and implementation of services.
  • Serve as a liaison between families, special education teams, and outside agencies to facilitate clear communication and support.
  • Maintain accurate records for all special education students, ensuring evaluations, reevaluations, and IEP meetings are conducted within legal timelines.
  • Assist in preparing for and attending IEP, mediation, and due process hearings, as needed.
  • Provide training and support to staff on special education due process procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in special education laws, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a school setting, office administration, or similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of special education processes (helpful but not required).
