Summary

The Special Education Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the BlueSky Special Education Department Lead and Staff.

Description

Special Education:

  • Maintains permanent files and records of special education students.

  • Performs confidential file notification and destruction in accordance with school policies and procedures.

  • Notifies case managers and the Special Education Director when documentation or required special education reports are incomplete or untimely.

  • Updates Child Study Dashboard weekly.

  • Attends weekly Child Study Meetings.

  • Sends and tracks due process paperwork to student guardians.

  • Updates and tracks special education service hours.

  • Maintains special education records for the director of special education.

  • Special projects are given by the director of special education. 

  • Records requests and transfers for special education students. 

  • Special education student enrollment and set up. 

  • Composes and produces routine and confidential correspondence, reports and other documents as required.

  • Complete yearly workload analysis. 

  • Generate state reports and documents (ex: Statement of Assurances).

  • Attends Necessary MDE trainings regarding updates and procedures.
     

504:

  • Maintain SpEd forms records for 504 students. 

  • Records requests and transfers for 504 students. 
     

MA Billing:

  • Provide notification to related service providers.

  • Letters to families notifying them of implied consent

  • Audit of SpEd Forms service logs

  • Monthly review of qualifies students

  • Submission of service logs 

 

General Education:

  • Prepares and maintains agreements with other school districts for tuition acknowledgment. 

  • Support enrollment process as needed.
