Positions are available in all buildings available for ages ranging from pre-K through 12th grade.
General Definition of Work
Performs intermediate human support work monitoring students’ academic and behavior Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Principal. Â

Essential Functions
Follows student Individualized Education Plan (IEP); monitors student behaviors and redirects when required; uses CPI
with student when necessary; communicates with classroom teacher and case manager; attends IEP meetings as
requested.
Supervises morning, lunchroom, recess, after school and bathroom breaks.
Assists students with clothing (shoes, zippers, gloves etc.); assists students walking to classrooms and lunchroom etc.
Assists students with class work throughout the day (math, spelling, reading etc.); ensures students attend Special
Education sessions and sensory breaks; monitors student schedules throughout the day; charts sensory breaks;
monitors students with medical conditions.
Completes, time study, and student chart for third party billing.
Monitors students with medical conditions; provides medication in the absence of the School Nurse; administers
minor First Aid when required.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of IEP and third party billing; thorough knowledge of behavior plans; thorough knowledge of
standard office equipment and software; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and
decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationship with co-workers, students, parents and elected officials.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED or higher.Â
Physical Requirements
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing,
frequently requires standing, walking, sitting and using hands to move, handle or feel and occasionally requires
stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work requires close vision and distance
vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and
conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive
information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to
make fine distinctions in sound; work requires observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally
requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear
specialized personal protective equipment and exposure to bodily fluids; work is generally in a moderately noisy
location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Special RequirementsÂ
High School Diploma/GED or higher.
Paraprofessional Test within 6 months of employment if no Associate’s Degree or higher is possessed.

CPI Training and/or Refresher TrainingÂ
Rate of Pay:
$17.59/hour Per Union Contract
