    REPORTS TO:    Executive Director/Special Education Director

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    1. Minimum of 5 years experience in special education

    2. Experience in a leadership role

    3. MN Special Ed teaching license

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES FOR NLC SPECIAL ED DUE PROCESS FACILITATOR:

     

    1. Monitor member district due process paperwork development for compliance with state and federal special education rules and regulations.

    2. Annually review a sample of each special education teacher's due process files for compliance and review additional files for compliance as requested by the Director of Special Education.

    3. Report files that do not meet compliance standards to the Director of Special Education.

    4. Develop action plans and timelines to work with teachers to bring files into compliance.

    5. Collaborate with the Director of Special Education and the School Psychologists to provide member district-wide oversight of the SPED Forms online due process software program.

    6. Assist new teachers with due process compliance

    7. Maintain current knowledge and skill in utilizing SPED Forms.

    8. Run reports using SPED Forms for planning purposes.

    9. Assist special education teachers in student set-up, transfer, finalization, merger, and deletion within SPED Forms.

    10. Assist with the Minnesota Department of Education’s Continuous Improvement Monitoring Process (CIMP).

    11. Partner with special education assessment team members to ensure consistency in the completion of special education evaluations across the district.

    12. Assist in the development of due process procedures and training tools as well as provide consultation, training and support for special education teachers in the district.

    13. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
