Job Summary:
At Aurora Charter School, we believe our greatest resource is the people who form our team. Â The Middle School Spanish Math Teacher (6th-8th Grade)Â under the supervision of the principal is responsible for creating a dual-language (English/Spanish) classroom environment that ensures learning and personal growth of every student; motivating students to become bilingual/biliterate leaders, develop critical thinking skills, and become environmental stewards.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Create and maintain effective environments for students.

Understand and organize subject matter for student learning in a way that fosters individual and group investigation.

Plan instruction and design differentiated learning experiences for a range of needs and abilities utilizing MN standards.Â

Use formative and summative assessments of student learning to drive instruction.

Collect and analyze student data to improve the school-wide instructional program.

Collaborate with Resource Teachers, students, and families to support the academic and social development of students with disabilities and suggest options for improvement.

Continually support student behavior with systems for feedback, reflection, and growth.

Monitor student progress, maintain student records and portfolios

Collaborate with instructional coaches, students, and families to support the academic and social development of students.Â

Communicate and actively build a strong relationship with students and parents/guardians on a regular basis, including leading parent conferences.

Continually support student behavior with systems for feedback, reflection, and growth, as supported by our PBIS, implemented program. Â

Attend IEP and 504 meetings as required for your students.Â

Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, and other professional activities.Â

Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including curriculum nights, and school events.Â

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Must possess a current MN license in Math or related field, or have the ability to obtain one.Â

Must be proficient in academic or native Spanish
-
Must be 18 years or older at the time of employment, must possess a valid Minnesota Driver’s License or state identification, must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check, and must comply with organizational and district policies.
Physical Requirements:Â

Required to lift or carry classroom supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment to a minimum of 35 pounds. Â

Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis.

Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
