Location:

Foley Elementary School, 743 Penn Street, Foley, MN

Days/Time:

10:00 am to 10:20 am, Mondays and Thursdays on student contact days only according to the preschool calendar. Ending on or around May 15, 2025.  

Rate:

Negotiable based on certifications and experience

Position Summary:

The primary function is to act as a facilitator of communication between the Deaf/Hard of Hearing student, their peers, and staff so that the student may actively participate in the educational program. The interpreter will assist staff in achieving the early learning objectives identified in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP), providing interpretation of the assigned instructional tasks, and facilitating communication at school.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an Interpreter/Transliterator Training Program affiliated with an accredited educational institution

  • Prefer experience working with young children who are deaf or hard of hearing 

  • Ability to help support the student with any additional needs in the education setting

  • Ability to serve in a role to support both the sign language and spoken language development of learners with hearing loss

  • Skilled in communicating with members of the student’s IEP team
