Musical Set Design Position — Aitkin High School

Aitkin High School is searching for a part-time Musical Set Designer to work with staff and students for the 2024-2025 school spring musical.  This part-time Musical Set Design position will be responsible for all matters pertaining to the organization and administration of the set design and construction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  –> Assist the musical director as needed in building and designing the set.

  –> Perform other relevant duties regarding the set designs. 

  –> Supervise students and assist in the set design process.

  –> Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines. 

  –> Assist in rehearsals and daily set changes to enhance performances. 

  –> Work with musical directors with lighting, sound, blocking and staging of scenes.  

Qualifications:

  –> Evidence of and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  –> Strong communications and interpersonal skills when working with other staff, parents, community members, supervisors and students.

  –> Ability to receive feedback and adjust accordingly. 

  –> Strong work ethic and dedication to further the benefits of student participation in co-curricular activities.

  –> Ability to perform essential job functions or as assigned.
