Job Summary:
Aspen Academy, an award-winning K-8 charter school in Savage, MN, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Second Grade Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Aspen Academy prides itself on small class sizes and a strong sense of community. This full-time position follows a 184-day work calendar, with summers and holiday breaks off.
The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes the intellectual and social development of second-grade students. You will work collaboratively with staff and families to provide a well-rounded education based on Core Knowledge principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Aspen Academy’s curriculum.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress through various methods, providing timely feedback.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
- Collaborate with grade-level team members to ensure consistency in educational delivery.
- Participate in professional development and school ​activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- A valid Minnesota Teaching License (required upon hiring).
- Experience teaching in an elementary classroom is preferred but not required.
- Strong classroom management skills and a passion for working with young learners.
