Job Title:      Science (.8) and AVID (.2) Teacher- Gr 6 and 7 (1.0 FTE) – Middle School

Job Description:   Full Time (1.0 FTE) Science (.8) and AVID (.2) Teacher – Middle School.  This position commences with the 2024-25 School Year on August 19, 2024.

Qualifications:     Candidates must possess a MN Dept. of Education teaching license in Science 6-8.  Candidates must be certified to teach in Minnesota. Strong technology skills are desired.  Knowledge and experience teaching science to middle level learners.  Ability to work with in a team environment.  Co-teaching experience beneficial and preferred.  AVID experience preferred.

AVID Qualifications:     Prior experience teaching an advanced content-area course (math, language arts, science or social studies); being able to collaborate with school faculty and parents; being committed and dedicated to the AVID program; having the desire to advocate for underachieving, undeserved students; the ability to promote academic success for underachieving students; the ability to organize and follow through; and, the ability to participate in the hiring, training, and managing college tutors.
