Description

Full-Time Itinerant School Psychologist applications are being accepted now. This position includes:

  • a 180-day contract
  • Competitive Compensation based on degree and experience. and full years of licensed teaching experience. SALARY RANGE: $41,020 – $85,801/annually based on the 2024/25 master contract salary schedule (25/26 salary schedule to be determined).
  • Health & Life Insurance, ESST & Personal Leave, 403 B Matching and TRA
  • Mileage is provided at the current Internal Revenue Service rate.

The assignment is flexible with where you reside as we provide services to 11 member school districts: Ada-Borup-West, Climax-Shelly, East Grand Forks, Fertile-Beltrami, Fisher, Fosston, Red Lake County Central, Red Lake Falls, Stephen-Argyle Central, Warren-Alvarado-Oslo, and Win-E-Mac.

POSITION SUMMARY: School psychologists provide direct and/or indirect support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-based mental health professionals to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services. Through their work, school psychologists help ASEC member districts successfully implement intervention and support frameworks to improve academic achievement, promote positive behavior and mental health, support diverse learners, create safe and positive school climates, strengthen family-school partnerships, improve school-wide assessment and accountability, and monitor individual student progress in academics and behavior.

MAIN AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  1. Student Support and Consultation:

    • Provide consultation to staff and families to support academic and social-emotional challenges.
    • Guide teams through data-driven problem-solving to identify appropriate school supports.
    • Conduct needs assessments to support resource allocation and programming decisions.
  2. Special Education Support:
    • Assist school staff in the identification of students with disabilities, preschool through high school, and in planning appropriate evaluation and reevaluation procedures for individual students.
    • Conduct educational evaluations using various assessments to determine students’ need for services, including eligibility for special education, and provide information relevant to developing individual service plans.
    • Coordinate assessments and evaluation reports with school teams.
    • Assist in maintaining compliance with special education policies and procedures.
    • Provide direct or in-direct related services to individual students or groups of students

 

  1. School-Wide Intervention and Support Systems:
    • Support school-wide screening processes for academics and social-emotional learning.
    • Assist in implementing and coordinating school-wide intervention frameworks.
    • Collaborate with administrators and facilitate intervention teams to develop effective intervention strategies and problem-solving processes.
    • Support the tracking and evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions.
  2. Crisis Response and Support:
    • Respond to crises involving students, staff, or families, providing consultation and immediate support.
    • Collaborate with school crisis teams to develop and implement prevention and response protocols.
    • Assist in completing student threat assessment activities when necessary.
    • Gather and organize data to assist teams in making manifestation determinations when needed.
  3. Collaboration and Professional Development:
    • Serve as a liaison between the school and other educational organizations or resources.
    • Participate in or lead professional learning opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
    • Attend and contribute to team, department, and leadership meetings.
  4. General Duties:
    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of students, staff, and the school community.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

    • Master’s Degree, or equivalent, and enrollment in a school psychology program with two years of preparation (internship)
    • Education Specialist or Doctorate in School Psychology (all other candidates)
    • MN Teaching Licensure in School Psychology or ability to obtain licensure through PELSB
    • Preferred: Nationally Certified School Psychologist
