STEP Academy is a K-12 charter school located in St. Paul, Minnesota that serves a student body primarily made up of first-generation Somali/East African students. As a destination school, STEP Academy ensures all students are nurtured and empowered to use their personal attributes and acquired knowledge to have the choice to participate in early college entry through the Minnesota PSEO program. STEP Academy is dedicated to the growth and development of our entire learning community: students, staff, parents, and administrators

Responsibilities:
– Perform routine health screenings and assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting findings
– Administer basic first aid and emergency care as needed
– Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for students
– Monitor and administer medications to students according to prescribed schedules
– Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions
– Provide health education and counseling to students, families, and staff
– Maintain a safe and clean environment in the school health office
– Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality

Experience:
– Must be a licensed nurse (RN or LPN)
– Experience working in a school or pediatric setting is preferred
– Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) procedures
– Familiarity with medical documentation practices and electronic health records systems
– Proficiency in administering injections and other medical procedures
– Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and common childhood illnesses

As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students. Your responsibilities will include providing medical care, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the best possible healthcare outcomes for students. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.40 – $24.06 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
