Position Overview:

BOLD Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students achieve academic success, personal growth, and emotional well-being. The School Counselor will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to provide comprehensive counseling services and support.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that address academic, career, and personal/social development.

  • Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and create individualized plans to support their success.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes.

  • Assist students in setting academic and career goals and provide guidance on college and career planning.

  • Respond to student crises and provide appropriate interventions and referrals.

  • Maintain confidential student records and documentation.

  • Promote a positive school climate and foster a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school counseling.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field.

  • Valid Minnesota School Counselor Certification/License.

  • Experience as a school counselor (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff.

  • Knowledge of college and career readiness programs and resources.

  • Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.

  • Proficiency in using counseling software and tools.
