Effective immediately the Human Resources Department will accept on-line applications for a School Age Care Program Support Paraprofessionals.
Position:Â Â School-Age Care Support Paraprofessional. Grades K-4
This position will start on August 26, 2024. Applicants must be able to work 8:00 am-4:00 pm, Aug. 26-30, 2024 for staff development and site set up. September 3rd is the first day that will be onsite with SAC participants.
Salary:Â Â $15.92-$17.52 per hour according to the 2021-2023 salary schedule for district paraprofessionals.
This position may be eligible to receive a stipend (provided by the Great Start Compensation Support Payment Program through the Department of Human Services.) Stipends are based on the number of hours childcare staff work directly with children. May be eligible for free childcare while working for School Age Care. Some restrictions apply.

Hours, Monday – Friday

6:30-7:30 am, 1 hour per day/5 hours per week. Float

Line of Supervision: School Age Care Coordinator, School Age Care Manager, School Age Care Inclusion Manager, and the School Age Care Site Supervisor(s).
Primary function:Â To assist the site supervisor(s) in providing a quality, age appropriate school age care program.
Qualifications: Experience with children in group situations, good communication skills, high degree of flexibility. Experience working with children of diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds.
Position Requirements Include:
- Must be 16 years of age
- Assist in the implementation and preparation of curriculum and enrichment activities for students.
- Assist in guiding children’s behavior using a positive and consistent style.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement emergency procedures.
- Participate with children in activities.
- Assist in supervising field trips.
- Assist in supervising children’s indoor and outdoor playtimes.
- Work in groups to assist students with daily activities.
- Must be able to work non-school days.
- Enforce proper hand washing and sanitizing.Â
- Ensure supplies and equipment are sanitized routinely.Â
- CPR, First Aid, AED and CPI certified. (Preferred)
- Must have had Mandated Reporting training. (Preferred)
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:

Frequent: standing, walking, swimming, lifting waist to chest; lifting below waist; carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, twisting/pivoting, reaching, simple grasp, firm grasp, fine manipulation; feeling, talking, hearing & visual accommodation. Exposure to weather, daily, when supervising children outdoors, ability to walk two (2) miles on uneven terrain and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
