Position: Principal’s Secretary (Temporary)

Location: Saint Peter Middle School
Duration: February 2025 – April 30, 2025
Reports To: Building Principal

Overview:

Saint Peter Middle School is seeking a dedicated and highly organized individual to fill the role of Principal’s Secretary on a temporary basis from
February 4,  2025 through April 30,  2025. This position provides support the administrative functions of the school, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of daily administrative functions. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the school, providing administrative support to the principal, including reviewing correspondence, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings and events.
    • Secondary point of contact to route student support relations and staff questions
  • Site Resource Management: Handling supply requisitions, handle tasks related to absence management with finding and assigning substitute teachers, professional growth tasks, and monitor incoming applicants for open positions. 
  • Reception Duties: Serve as the secondary point of contact for visitors and phone inquiries, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. Primary contact for vendors and other service providers. Coverage for the reception office as needed.
  • Miscellaneous Tasks: Support the health office, assist with maintenance of office equipment; copier, printer, fax machine, orders office/teaching supplies and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in office administrative support is desired, with demonstrated proficiency in word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to handle light to moderate physical activity, including occasional lifting up to 25 lbs, and be able to work in an environment with varying noise levels.

Compensation: 
$16.91/hour
