Position: Safety/Traffic Controller
Work Schedule: 1 hr/ 5 days a wk
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: $1700 Stipend/Trimester

Summary:
During the construction phase of Tartan High School,  Safety/Traffic Controllers are needed to help re/direct in and outgoing traffic, regulate flow of pedestrian crossing and parking lots. This is a temporary position for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of students, staff and motorists by directing traffic and pedestrian flow

  • Identify safety hazards

  • Collect information on vehicles that violate traffic rules

  • Other duties as assigned by building administration

  • Partner with school administration and district transportation 

Required Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma or some college

  2. Reliable attendance and punctuality 

  3. Effective communication skills

  1. Ability to handle detailed information accurately.

  2. Ability to maintain the security and privacy of all information, transactions and discussion of sensitive topics. 

  3. Considerable ability to work under pressure and address safety concerns as needed.

  4. Ability to work independently with little work direction.

  5. Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.

  6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Work Environment:

ISD 622 is a community collaborative dedicated to educating and empowering all learners to excel in our changing world.  In our learning environment, the individual will primarily work indoors.
