Minnesota Internship Center Charter High School is seeking candidates for Safety and Support on the deans team at our Downtown Campus. This will be a position for the Fall of school year 2024-25.

Minnesota Internship Center High School (www.mnic.org)  is a Twin Cities Charter School with 2 campuses and an online program located in Minneapolis.  Our mission is to provide rigorous and highly engaging instruction to students in grades 9-12.  We are going into our 21st year of educating students looking for a smaller, more caring and supportive environment. As an organization, we believe in a culture of respect, fair treatment and support to everyone. Qualifications: Candidates should have experience working in an Educational setting. Experience working with secondary students preferred.

  • We are looking for individuals that are willing to be a strong presence in our buildings addressing behavioral issues as they come up in a restorative and solutions-based approach. 
  • They have a passion about working with young adults and helping them walk on the right path.
  • They have dynamic, high-energy, student-centered and effective styles working with students. They are self-motivated, able to work in a team environment, dependable, and able to effectively adapt and deescalate high-stress situations.
  • The position will require that you provide social, emotional, and behavior intervention consultation with students and families. Provide social, emotional, and behavior intervention consultation with students and classroom teachers. As well as provide social skills, instruction, and support for students.
  • Our ideal candidate has the ability to connect to our students by building relationships that will benefit all learners and create a positive, successful learning environment.
  • Assistant Dean and Safety Support staff are expected to commit to outreach in the community. In addition, it  requires the ability to recruit new students in Community Outreach.

Compensation
Wages are competitive with other schools in the area. All regular MNIC positions are full-time and salaried including paraprofessionals, nutritionists, and maintenance. That means that you receive the same paycheck every pay period of the year and won’t ever have a lower or missed paycheck because of school breaks.

Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays
School-year employees receive 80 hours of paid time off per school year (~10 full days) along with 22 scheduled paid days off for holidays and school breaks. Year-round employees receive 160 hours of paid time off per year (~20 full days) along with 28 scheduled paid days off for holidays and school breaks. 

Technology & Supplies
All employees are assigned a high-quality laptop and an iPhone. Teachers and support staff have access to a robust supply budget to ensure that you will never have to go out of pocket to buy the supplies you need. 

Retirement Plans
All MNIC employees are enrolled in Minnesota retirement plans with significant employer contributions. Licensed teachers are enrolled through the Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) and receive an employer contribution of 8.55%. All other employees are enrolled through the Public Employees Retirement Association and received an employer contribution of 7.5%. 

Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
MNIC offers affordable health, dental, and vision insurance for all employees. MNIC employees can choose from three different Medica Choice Passport health insurance plan options with low monthly premiums that range from $0.00 to $90.69. MNIC employees can also add their spouse, children, or both for an additional cost.
