Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a Registered Nurse oversee student health plans in a variety of different school settings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Registered nurse (RN) certification required
- Current nursing license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing is required
- Licensed School Nurse licensure through PELSB required
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):Â Â Â
- Identify, prioritize, and provide first aid managment and emergency care to students with scope of authority and training in compliance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and current policies/procedures
- Maintain student health records, ensuring confidentiality
- Administer screening programs at appropriate grade levels
- Assess the health status of students and develop individual health plans as appropriate
- Review and manage student immunization records and health forms
- Perform nursing care procedures and administer medications necessary for students to participate in their school day per the MN Nurse Practice Act and current policies/procedures
- Provide consultation, education, and support to students, families, and staff for student health needs
- Work with community resources to enhance health services to students when appropriate
- Engage in continuing education to support ongoing professional growth
WORKING CONDITIONS:Â
- Office, lifting, sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, keyboarding, etc.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) provides special education services to 12 School Districts and three Charter Schools within five counties of southeast Minnesota: Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. HVED also has a Setting IV Behavior Program, Students Achieving Integrated Services (SAIL) that provides programming for students in grades K-12 with challenging behaviors currently receiving special education services. Along with the SAIL programs, HVED provides programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a program named for Specialized Programming, Education, Comprehensive Therapy and other Resources for their Unique Minds (SPECTRUM).
