Description
The REACH Program Education Assistant will provide support, explanation, re-teaching and instructional help for students. This position will work approximately 3 hours per day Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year. The salary range for this position is $18.07 per hour – $20.57 per hour.Â
REACH is an acronym for: Relationships + Education + Accountability + Character + Hard work. The REACH program is a voluntary, in-school program designed to assist students who may need support academically, socially, and /or emotionally. The goal of REACH is to assist students experience success by learning new life skills to overcome barriers and/or challenges present in their lives. The REACH program helps students to acquire the tools necessary to become successful adults after graduation.Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Maintain confidentiality standards by adhering to the district’s data privacy policy.
- Help to reinforce teachings of the classroom teacher by working with students on a one to-one basis or in small groups.
- Conferring and planning with teachers to recommend ideas, identify problems, and aid in problem solving.
- Help students to strengthen skills to become more independent.
- Help the classroom teacher with recordkeeping of the student’s progress. Conducts informal assessments to measure students’ mastery of learned materials as directed by the
- classroom teacher.
- Attend meetings and in-service for staff development. Follow suggestions made by classroom teachers, principal, and others who may provide staff development.
Required Qualifications (one of the following):Â
Candidates interested in the position but do not meet the required qualifications below are still encouraged to apply, as the district is committed to assisting with attaining the necessary credentials.
- Associates Degree
- 60 semester college credits
- Passing score on one of the state approved tests
