Provides instruction and social skills interventions for students in the River Bend RAPTORS Program
Description
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates as a team member in the planning and implementation of academic/treatment programs (when applicable) for individual students and their families. This includes consultation with school personnel, parents, and appropriate agencies regarding possible intervention strategies for students.
- Serves as IEP manager for students assigned to the Raptor Program. This includes completion of all necessary due process forms and adherence to due process timelines and other requirements.
- Provides academic instruction, social skills training, assessment, and behavioral intervention consistent with each student’s IEP and due process procedures.
- Participates as part of the team in determining appropriateness of placement of pupils within the Raptor program.
- Coordinates the daily activities and educational programming
- Adheres to data privacy requirements and other policies as established by River Bend Education District.
- Develops and designs curriculum that addresses students’ needs and is consistent with the mission of the ASD program. This should reflect, when possible, the curriculum requirements of the resident district.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Program Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensure as a Special Education teacher (ASD or ABS preferred) by the Minnesota Board of Teaching.
- Demonstrated ability to organize activities, communicate ideas both verbally and in writing, and to maintain positive professional working relationships with colleagues.
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials, assessment kits, equipment or other necessary job-related items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to transport self among member distrricts and to regional and state meetings as necessary.
