Program Manager – Evening & Weekend Activities – Districtwide

General Definition of Work

Under the direction of the Youth Programs Coordinator, the Program Manager is responsible to be the primary on-site point of contact for Community Education events. This role acts as a communicator for all Community Education activities, events, concerns or issues outside of regular programming hours.

Essential Functions

The essential functions of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties.

  • Provides customer service to all users at the event, activity, and/or gathering during a scheduled shift, which will primarily be during afternoons, evenings, and weekends. 

  • Assists Community School Site Coordinators and Community Education staff as needed.

  • Opens and closes the facilities as scheduled for Community Education programs, as well as other District-sponsored activities as needed.

  • Monitors all activities, ensuring that the facility users are following District policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as related Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Education guidance.

  • Monitors all building use during events, activities, and/or gatherings by conducting walk-throughs in the facility and positively connecting with user groups.

  • Completes frequent building perimeter walks (interior and exterior), ensuring site access security to non-scheduled use doors, and oversees arrival of groups through designated entrances.

  • Addresses unauthorized persons on site property through appropriate guest service.

  • Reviews and tracks event attendance and staff schedules during events, activities, and/or gatherings. 

  • Thoroughly completes and returns all forms, including accident/incident reports, attendance reports, and timesheets in a timely manner.

  • Is knowledgeable about District and building emergency action plans and location of emergency resources within buildings.

  • Provides direction and partnership during emergencies with site users, on-site staff and local emergency services.

  • Attends staff meetings as needed.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. AA degree preferred.

  • Proficient in Google Suite

  • Willingness to work after school, evenings and weekends (flexible schedule depending on event schedules)

  • Must adhere to performance guidelines

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high focus on customer service.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain professional communication at all times.

  • Ability to work accurately, independently and as a team member and able to problem solve with employees and customers at all levels of the organization.

  • Understanding of Faribault Public Schools policies and structure.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Somali preferred.
