Long-Term Substitute Preschool Teacher/TKC Program Lead

Delano Community Education is seeking a dedicated Long-Term Substitute Preschool Teacher/TKC Program Lead to join our Delano Public Schools Preschool (DPS Preschool) program. This position starts on February 12, 2024, and runs through mid-May 2025.


Position Details

Schedule/Location:

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday
  • Located at the Delano Community Education Center (140 Elm Ave E, Delano, MN)

Program Overview

DPS Preschool focuses on play-based learning to prepare children for kindergarten through the use of Creative Curriculum. Key aspects of our program include:

  • Assessing student progress using Teaching Strategies Gold and conducting two parent-teacher conferences annually.
  • Strong collaboration with the Delano Elementary School to align curriculum and training within a Pre-K through Grade 3 (P-3) model.
  • Partnering with Tiger Kids Club to provide cohesive preschool programming with wraparound care for students.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver daily preschool curriculum aligned with Creative Curriculum and the DPS Preschool mission.

  • Lead a classroom of up to 18 students while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Communicate effectively with families and colleagues to support student success.

  • Build strong, nurturing relationships with preschool-aged children.

  • Maintain a well-organized, welcoming classroom environment that aligns with Creative Curriculum.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Preferred: Current Minnesota teaching license in Early Childhood (Birth-3rd), Elementary Education (K-6), or a related field.

  • At least one year of relevant experience is preferred but not required.

  • Knowledgeable in child development and best practices in early childhood education.

  • Warm, approachable demeanor with a passion for teaching young children.

  • Highly motivated, self-directed individuals with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.


Salary/Benefits

  • Seperate compensation rates for the 2 positions.  Pay range is $14.66-$31.12.
