Job Description:
Partnership Academy is seeking a collaborative, culturally responsive educator to co-teach in one of our play-based, 4-year-old VPK preschool classrooms.
Partnership Academy has a strong commitment to culturally and developmentally relevant instruction for all students. Through a highly collaborative culture, Partnership Academy teachers work in teams to provide differentiated and hands-on instruction. Partnership Academy supports its educators to constantly improve their instruction in ways that directly impact students’ academic, linguistic, social, and emotional growth.
The preschool classroom teacher will co-teach to provide exceptional instruction and play-based learning to a class of 20 students. Through weekly professional development sessions, formal and informal observations, and frequent feedback, Partnership Academy educators are encouraged and motivated to constantly push themselves to perform at the highest standards. We are looking for a classroom teacher who can collaborate effectively with a strong team, including a Preschool Co-Teacher, Associate Educators, Special Education staff, Emergent Bilingual teachers, Early Learning Corps Members, Instructional Coaches, and Family Specialists. In addition, the teacher should stay highly engaged with joint teaching and mentoring systems of support.
Teachers in this position must also ensure they analyze and adapt provided curriculum and teach in a way that supports High Scope standards, effectively collect and interpret data to guide instruction, provide individualized instruction based on student needs, partner with families and guardians to support students, and establish a strong culture of learning and community.
The Preschool Classroom Teacher will be responsible for:

Use High/Scope curriculum, COR Assessments, with a Reggio Emilia influence.

Planning and teaching small and large groups.

Have positive, developmentally appropriate interactions with the children including facilitating their learning through all parts of the school day.

Use a play-based approach to learning with high regard for student perspective and influence.

Be aware of, maintain and change the classroom environment, gym and outside environment consistent with the interests and needs of the preschoolers.

Communicating with families frequently.

Ensuring safety and engagement throughout the day, including at lunch, recess and rest time.

Participating in ongoing professional development, formal and informal observations, coaching and feedback.

Use prep time to enhance children’s learning.

Use the scope and sequence to enhance children’s growth and learning.

Demonstrate a commitment to the job by understanding and exhibiting behaviors congruent to mission, visions, professionalism and continued quality of the program.
Qualifications:
Minnesota Teaching License preferred but not required; in lieu of licensure, applicants must demonstrate qualifications such as Child Development Associates or Bachelors of Arts/Science in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field.
Spanish speaker preferred but not required
Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students preferred
