Location: District (multiple locations)

Hours Per Week: 40

Schedule: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm  Monday through Friday

Starting Wage: $16.84/hour. 
Community Education Personnel Contract

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic Preschool Assistant Float to join our team!

Position Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the teacher in creating a positive learning environment and providing high-quality instruction and care to our preschoolers. Applicant must be willing to go to all school locations and be flexible in assignemnt each day. This is a school year position. Opportunities available for summer employment.

As a Preschool Assistant you will…

  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment

  • Guide children in the development of language, motor, and social skills

  • Execute age-appropriate, hands-on activities for 2-5 year old children

  • Enforce policies and procedures set by the school

  • Participate in professional development and other school-related activities

  • Communicate daily with parents at drop off and pick up

  • Foster an atmosphere of respect and positive reinforcement

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications…

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Post-secondary education in child development, early childhood, or equivalent preferred

  • At least one year successful experience working with preschool aged children in a childcare or education setting

  • Has a passion for working with young children

  • Ideal candidates will have experience working with young children from diverse backgrounds

  • Experience with the Pyramid Model and Classroom Engagement Model is beneficial

  • Has documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.

  • Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodation

  • Able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, staff and caregivers 

  • Must successfully meet our pre-employment background screening requirements
