Payroll Manager
Unaffiliated Level 4

Position Description:

The Payroll Manager is responsible for supervising assigned payroll operations and ensuring all components of payroll are implemented with integrity and attention to timelines.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains integrity of the District’s payroll operations, by establishing, maintaining, administering, updating policies, projects, processes, procedures; and ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards
  • Supervises accounting support staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Coordinates and/or performs multiple accounting functions of the department, including creating, reviewing, updating and submitting financial and statistical records, statements, forms, reports, and other documentation; payment processing; account reconciliation; investment managements, including monitoring collaterals and accounts; and performing internal account checks.
  • Assists in budget preparation by estimating and monitoring fund balances, researching funding sources, tracking revenue and expenditures, and preparing and reviewing reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Three years accounting or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
