Job Summary:Â
Under the direction of the Payroll Supervisor, ensures accurate and compliant payroll processing within the District. Key responsibilities include reviewing and processing payroll submissions, providing support and training on payroll reporting processes, setting up employee pay records, maintaining employee benefits and deductions, preparing periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions, auditing payroll reports for accuracy, and performing other assigned duties. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, knowledge of bargaining unit contracts and state requirements, familiarity with payroll processing systems, and the ability to effectively communicate with employees and third-party entities. The Payroll Generalist plays a crucial role in maintaining payroll system integrity and ensuring employees are compensated accurately and in compliance with regulations.

Minimum Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent. Post-secondary coursework in Business, Finance, Human Resources Management or a related field is preferred. Payroll experience is preferred.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.  Ability to multitask and handle confidential information with discretion.  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.  Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Â
Rate of pay: $22.79 per hour, $23.79 per hour with an AA degree, $24.29 per hour with a BA degree. Excellent benefits package.
