Terms: Monday – Friday, 7:30-3:30
Salary/Rate: Salary range: $16.70 – $19.78 per hour depending on experience.
Requirements: 176 days per school year.
About us: Our District serves the communities of Biscay, Brownton, Glencoe, New Auburn, Plato & Silver Lake Minnesota. We are located 1 hour Southwest of Minneapolis. We are a small District with approximately 1,600 K-12 learners, yet Glencoe-Silver Lake Public Schools is focused on meeting the academic and career needs of all students.
We have two elementary schools, one middle school, and a high school on two campuses.
Three of our schools (one elementary, the middle school, and the high school) are located in Glencoe, and one Elementary, “Lakeside” is located in Silver Lake.
About the role: We are seeking an individual to join our paraprofessional team to support students' academic and behavioral programming located at Lakeside Elementary, our grades 3-6 Elementary site in Silver Lake. This position is for 6.75 hours per day, for 2024-2025 school year, and is a B-21 rated position.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the instruction of students with special needs under the guidance of a teacher.
- Collaborates closely with students in both one-on-one and small group settings to reinforce and practice concepts and material introduced by teacher.
- This position requires individuals to be caring, patient, and focused on achieving individual student goals.
- Other supervision duties such as lunch/recess may also be required.
Candidate requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D)
- Experience working with children.
- Occasional or frequent lifting of 20 to 40 pounds or more may be required.
- Physical Activities including: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions.
