Kids’ Company Site Lead

JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Site Coordinator, the Site Leader is responsible for assisting with the general daily oversight of the program; implementing daily program activities; assigning daily program tasks to the Community Services paraprofessionals, other program staff or volunteers; and direct supervision of children or youth to ensure that a safe, fun and enriching program is carried out each day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, fun, enriching, and hands on experiences for youth that include; STEAM, SEL, recreation activities and other enrichment based opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with other staff to support the social, physical, emotional and cognitive development of each child
- Advocate and support overall program quality improvement goals and procedures
- Participate in activities with students, and lead small group activities
- Implement and maintain fidelity to any and all quality improvements measures as defined by the Site Coordinator and/or Youth Program Supervisor
- Delegate daily activities and functions based on program activities to site staff
- Serve as role model interacting with children using positive reinforcement, redirection, and position communications.
- Assist with creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment that supports and serves the needs of children and families
- Appreciate and support the development of individual attributes in children served in the program
- Communicate with parents, Site Coordinator, building administrators, and others who need to know concerning specific child issues, general concerns, or issues regarding the Kids’ Company program.
WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

Education/Certification/Licensure:
- AA degree or the completion of a combination of district training programs, experience, and coursework of an equivalent nature and level to perform the requirements of the work
- CPI, CPR and First Aid Certified or become certified within the first 90 days of employment
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license

Experience:
- 1-3 years of youth programming experience
- Must be 18 years of age

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively with students of all ages and abilities in a positive manner
- Ability to conduct oral, written and web based communication with district personnel, staff and families
- Proficient in technology related to OST programming and youth enrichment
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR
- Ability to exercise confidentiality in handling district information

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices, and Software:
- Operates office equipment including computer, printer, multi-line phone system, copier, facsimile
- Utilizes OST and youth enrichment software
- Uses Gmail to receive district communication

Supervision of Other Employees:
- Position may provide work direction based on curriculum and program management to paraprofessionals within the program

Physical Job Requirements:
- Position lifts 20 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 40 lbs. occasionally
- Position involves stamina to perform in stressful situations which require attention to many areas at a time
- Position involves bending, stooping and kneeling while working with students
- Position involves extended periods of time on feet
- Position involves listening, speaking clearly and visual acuity

- Position involves some exposure to students with special needs and also students with severe disabilities
- Position involves occasional lifting of students
- Position involves risk of occasional physical injury from student and/or emotional outbursts Position may involve traveling between buildings, within the building, and work area
