Osakis Public School is accepting applications for paraprofessionals.

Students at Osakis Public School in Pre-K to 12th grade learn in one school building. Osakis has small class sizes and a full-time School Resource Officer.

Essential Duties:
Paraprofessional duties may include but are not limited to the following based on position: assist classroom teachers with students by guiding and reinforcing lessons; explain instructions and assignments to students one-on-one or in small groups; give make-up tests; assist teachers with classroom preparation; assist teachers with implementing student’s IEP (Individual Education Plan); supervise and monitor students on bus, playground, study hall, locker room, lunch room, hallways or where needed; assist teachers with behaviors; maintain communication with teachers regarding schedules and student progress; attend meetings and in-services as requested.
 
Qualifications: 
This position does not require a license, however, some paraprofessional positions require candidates to be considered “highly qualified” under the Code of Federal Regulations.

This statute requires: 1) At least two years of college credits through an accredited institution of high education; or 2) As associate’s or higher degree; or 3) A passing score on a valid and reliable formal assessment demonstrating the knowledge and ability to assist with instruction in reading/language arts, writing, mathematics or readiness for each.

Pay and Benefits:
Hourly rates range from $16.48 to $20.87, depending on experience. Other benefits include paid time off, access to health care, pension, and summer unemployment.
