Special Education Paraprofessional

Description

Cromwell-Wright Public Schools, ISD #95 has an immediate opening for a Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2024-25 School Year. This position will include direct student academic support. This position is approx. 35 hours per week and includes student contact days only, plus additional mandatory training days. 

Summer employment opportunities are available and recent legislation extended unemployment benefits to between term school year employees. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. 

Paraprofessionals who assist with instruction must meet additional requirements in one of three ways: 

  • Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (a minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as defined by the institution attended); 

  • OR Obtained an Associate’s (or higher) Degree; 

  • OR Demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, readiness for each of these subject areas). This is usually accomplished by obtaining a minimum score of 460 on the ParaPro Assessment. 

District offers a 90 day probationary period to obtain ParaPro Certification if not highly qualified. Salary starts at $17.00 per hour.
