Irrawaddy Academy is a K-4 elementary school located in St. Paul, MN scheduled to open in August 2025. Our mission is to prepare all students for postsecondary success by developing the academic and life skills they need to thrive. We do this with our innovative learning program that enhances student development with engaging activities in math, reading, and critical thinking through interactive games. Description

Qualifications:

  1. Must have at least a high school diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

  2. Teaching experience preferred

  3. Community connections in St. Paul preferred

  4. Marketing experience preferred

  5. Fluent 2nd language of Somali, Oromo, Karen, or Spanish preferred

Position Description

  1. Assisting in Operating After-School and Weekend Community Learning Sessions (18 hours/week)

    1. Collaborate effectively as a valued member of the teaching staff.

  2. Preparation (6 hours/week)

    1. Plan and prepare for teaching sessions, ensuring materials and resources are ready.

  3. Marketing/ Advertising (6 hours/week)

    1. Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote programs and engage the community.

Background Check Upon Conditional Offer: 

Background checks are conducted upon receiving a conditional offer. Employees must complete a background check. A passing background check is required. 

Pay Rate:
Hourly, based on on experience.
