POSITION: Gymnastics Instructor for Community Education
HOURS: Vary. Monday-Friday and weekend hours
LOCATION: Wildcat Community Center
HOURLY RATE: $14-18/hr DOQ
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide instruction to pre-K through advanced level participants and maintain communications with parents, participants, instructors and supervisor.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide instruction and/or coaching to a variety of ages from toddlers to high school students. Ensure environment and equipment is safe and maintained. Respond effectively to emergency situations. Report any equipment, injury or safety issues to supervisor immediately. Maintain effective communications with students, parents/guardians, coworkers, and community members. Communicate regularly with supervisor. Be a positive role model for respectful behavior and problem solving strategies and adhere to district procedures and policies. Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities): Proven leadership with both youth and adults. Proven knowledge of basic gymnastics skills and techniques and ability to demonstrate. Ability to be trained to effectively teach skills and techniques to a variety of age groups and ability levels. Effective communication skills and ability to work with various age groups. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and resolve disputes and problems effectively and efficiently. Ability to understand and follow data privacy rules and regulations. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prompt, regular and reliable attendance. Ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends. Communicates with students, parents, coworkers, supervisors and community members in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school degree Previous coaching experience Previous work experience in education, recreation or related field
