Occupational Therapist
Long Term Substitute – approximately February 8, 2025 – April 29, 2025 

  • Provide direct and indirect Occupational Therapy (OT) to identified students.

  • Train special and general education staff, parents and other team members on specific interventions, equipment; observes students in various educational environments and provides recommendations; adapts and/or modifies materials.

  • Implement educational plans as described on individual IEP and provide information for building staff as needed.

  • Maintain appropriate records and reports.  Collect data on progress on goals and objectives for each student and meet all required timelines.

  • Communicate effectively with students, families, educators, and administrators regarding student programs and progress.

  • Work cooperatively with general education teachers and staff and provide building consultation, support, and training as needed.

  • Create and maintain a professional working relationship with families and staff.

  • Conduct assessments, comprehensive report results, and follow Minnesota state criteria in area(s) of special education eligibility as well as mandated timelines.

  • Determine and complete purchase orders for supplies, materials, and equipment based on student needs.

  • Participate in building and District level professional development activities.

  • Measure and document therapy outcomes and attendance.  Third Party Billing for students who receive services and qualify for Medical Assistance.

  • Collaborate with the district special education team to share best practices and new therapy initiatives.

  • Adhere to federal and state statutes and rules related to individualized service and due process.

  • Other duties as assigned. Perform all other duties and responsibilities in certification areas as directed by the Director of Student Services and/or the Building Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fully  licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of MN

    Salary per the SAVEA Master Contract
