Intermediate District 287 is looking for qualified Occupational Therapists with our Itinerant Programs for Fall 2024!

 

Intermediate District 287 is a west metro district for learners with unique needs. As an intermediate district, we provide specialized services, primarily setting IV special education, to students from 12 member districts in the west metro. 

 

 

What Makes Us Special:

  • We are a trauma-informed district. We take into account past trauma and the resulting coping mechanisms when attempting to understand behaviors and best serve our students.
  • There is a variety of support services in each school including School Social Workers, Psychologists, Counselors, Behavior Intervention Specialists and Student Safety Coaches. All of whom are student-centered and focused on building relationships with each child.
  • Small class sizes – typically 6-8 students per class

Position Details:

  • Provide occupational therapy services that include improving, developing, or restoring skills which will enable students to move toward independent functioning regarding physical, mental, emotional, and educational goals
  • Support students in their least restrictive educational setting
  • Support staff in evaluation, program planning and environmental issues

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary is based on the Local 2209 Salary Schedule A

Requirements:

  • Interested in candidates who are: diverse, bilingual, or have experience working with diverse populations
  • Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health as an occupational therapist 
  • National Board of Certified Occupational Therapist (NBCOT) designation
  • Previous experience, fieldwork, or internship in Pediatrict or Developmental Occupational Therapy, preferred
