Occupational Therapist, 1.0 FTE – Northwest Regional Interdistrict Council (NWRIC)

The Northwest Regional Interdistrict Council is looking for a full-time Occupational Therapist (FTE 1.0) available beginning the 2024-2025 school year.  

The Northwest Regional Interdistrict Council (NWRIC) is a special education cooperative that serves eight school districts in northwest Minnesota.  

Job Summary: School-based occupational therapists (OTs) use meaningful activities to help students participate in educational activities.  Using a collaborative model, school-based occupational therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and sensory components of performance. OTs focus on supporting student growth in academics, play and leisure, social participation, self-care skills, and transition/work skills. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conducts appropriate occupational therapy screening, evaluation, and intervention services to support learners with various physical, neurological, sensory, and perceptual impairments receiving special education services.
  • Provides direct and indirect instructional occupational therapy services as specified in each learner’s IEP.  
  • Provides consultation and/or in-service training to school personnel, parents, and others concerning the areas of various physical, neurological, sensory, and perceptual impairments to maximize student skills.  This includes but is not limited to student-specific technical, behavioral, and visual support.  
  • Assists, as a member of the multidisciplinary IEP team, in gathering assessment/reassessment data, making special education placement decisions, developing goals and instructional objectives, identifying any needed adaptations and modifications, and providing recommendations for assistive technology for students who qualify for occupational therapy. 

Salary Range: Salary is based on education and experience.
