Nutrition Services Secretary – Sartell-St. Stephen School District
Location:  District Service Center
Position starts:  January 6, 2025

Hours:
8 hours/day, 222 days/year

Job Summary:
The Nutrition Services Secretary is responsible to provide receptionist and administrative clerical support to the department and to coordinate activities within the department so that functions, responsibilities, and objectives are achieved.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs administrative assistance to the Nutrition Services Director and Assistant Director including, but not limited to preparing communications to staff, students, families and employees, copying menus, correspondence, all Food Service manuals, RevTrak On-Line (Web & Local) Program, Sysco Net Program.
  • Maintains accurate accounts of purchases & payments in the Skyward software program. Downloads Revtrak Web payments to provide accurate accountability for the Business Office. Resolve technical issues with the RevTrak program as needed. Assists all district parents/guardians with Family Access logins & passwords & information regarding their food accounts & the RevTrak web-based program. Notifies all negligent accounts, NSF check returns & all other issues relating to their child(ren) food accounts.
  • Reviews cashier reconciliation sheets from all schools, calculates deposit & delivers to bank daily.  Notifies appropriate parties of errors in payments or purchases. Assists in monitoring adherence to procedures & deposits of all cashiers. Provides training for cashiers as needed.
  • Compiles and codes all Nutrition Service bills.  Enters records (bills, credits etc.) into the designated tracking program. Prepares monthly summary reports to assist Director and Assistant Director in applicable state & federal reimbursement programs. Assists with product (new or present) pricing and change within the Skyward program.
  • Receives District Reduced/Free lunch applications, processes them for eligibility & notifies families.  Does yearly verification of Free/Reduced applications as mandated by the state. Handles questions from district parents relating to the Free & Reduced applications and/or qualifications.
  • Programs all cashiers Touch Screen monitors. Keeps Wanding Message list up-to-date, placing messages on students accounts as requested by parents. Assists cashiers with computer issues & problems, working with the technical department as needed.
  • Assists all Head Cooks with issues that may arise: computer problems, Sysco Link, food deliveries to buildings, equipment problems, cashier issues etc.

Additional Duties
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department.
         
Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.

Qualification Profile
Hence providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Graduation from high school.
  • College level course work in business, word processing, and office procedures preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in similar position
  • Successful experience with office management in related area preferred.

Salary
Local 284 Clerical Union, Starting Salary is $22.81/hr
