Northside Learning Specialist (Title I) –  St. James Public Schools

Date of Availability: August 2024

St. James Public Schools is accepting applications for a Learning Specialist Position (Title 1) position at the Northside Elementary School, St. James, MN.

Northside Elementary is located in St. James, MN and has an approximate enrollment of 490 students.

Learning Specialist Qualifications and Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Elementary K-6 license or K-12 Reading License preferred

  • Five or more years of teaching experience

  • LETRS Volume 1 Trained; LETRS Volume 1 & 2 trained preferred

  • Experience with FASTBridge

  • Knowledge of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy

  • Experience with successful implementation of research based academic interventions.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Work cooperatively with general education classroom teachers

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate student learning experiences using a research-based and evidenced-based curriculum.

  • Utilize appropriate assessment, data collections and progress monitoring methods to assess academic performance and to inform instruction and progress.

  • Communicate regularly with parents including planning and implementation of Family Engagement Events and Parent Advisory Meetings.

  • Maintain accurate records for Title I compliance.

  • Annually evaluate the effectiveness of the Title I program.

  • Collaborate through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) with colleagues in order to respond to student needs.

  • Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract

  • Carry out responsibilities as defined by the principal

  • Other duties as assigned
