National Honor Society Advisor

 

Wayzata High School is looking for a National Honor Society Advisor beginning in the 2023-24 school year.

 

The NHS advisor is responsible for planning and supervising all NHS events and activities including but not limited to:

  • Coordinating and managing application/selection process

  • Working with a board of 5 student officer to accomplish NHS goals

  • Coordinating with student leaders as committee heads for NHS events

  • Organizing and hosting one Tuesday morning meeting per month

  • Managing the group canvas page and communication

  • Managing student volunteer hour requirements (Innerview App)

  • Managing senior members as they work on their senior project

  • Organizing and managing the following of NHS sponsored events:

    • Tackle Cancer & Tackle Cancer Flag Football Tournament

    • 3 Memorial Blood Drives

    • Snow Days:

      • Decorations

      • Wayzata Idol

      • Sing-O-Grams

      • Snow Ball Dance

    • Spring/Fall Clean-Up

  • Organizing and managing Summer Informational Meeting

  • Organizing and managing New Member Induction

  • Organizing and managing Senior Celebration Night

 

We challenge our students with high expectations of school and community pride as well as personal conduct, and support our students by modeling, teaching, and encouraging the skills and attributes that will help them succeed.  We strive to instill a sense of responsibility as members of NHS, the school, and the community.  Motivation is key, and the successful NHS advisor will inspire our students to continue success outside of WHS.

 

Applicants must have a teaching license.  Previous experience with NHS is preferred.
